Weekly Update// Pastor Will
Hello Friends,
As I pen down these words, it's already 2024! New Year's had a different flavor for us this time around. Instead of the usual dining out and meeting up with friends, we opted for brinner, or breakfast for dinner, relishing some delicious pancakes my brother whipped up. We found an old ball drop on YouTube, ushered in the New Year with the kids at 8:45, and called it a night—an unexpectedly serene and pleasant evening.
Life has a way of evolving with the seasons, and I find myself embracing each stage with anticipation forwhat lies ahead. Whatever you did to welcome the New Year, I hope it broughtjoy and contentment to your celebration.
Regarding resolutions, I refrained from making any grand commitments this year. I see them more as personal challenges—a chance to improve in a few areas. My overarching goal, as I've heard it expressed, is to "wear Christ well." In everything I do, I aspire for the love of Christ to radiate through my life. This has been my hope in years past and will remain the same for 2024.
Looking ahead, the United Methodist Men are gathering this Saturday, the 6th, where I'll be sharing reflections on the past year and thoughts for 2024. If you're free, I'd be delighted if you could join us at 7:30 am in the Fellowship Hall. Bring a friend and a couple of bucks.
In our upcoming worship service this Sunday, we have a standalone message titled "Leading From the Front: The Baptism of Jesus." It delves into the significant event of Jesus' baptism. We'd love for you to be part of our Celebration/Contemporary Service at 9:30 am or the Traditional Service at 11:00 am. And, of course, you can catch the live stream if you can't make it in person.
I'm eagerly anticipating a fantastic 2024 together with all of you and wish you a wonderful weekend!
Thanks,
Pastor Will
