Weekly Update// Pastor Will
Hi Church!
I don’t know how your week is going, but my week is busy! It’s all good stuff, but still busy. First, we just got back from a trip to North Carolina. Alicia and I returned to our stomping grounds in Durham, NC to Duke University to see one of my best friends marry. It was a wonderful wedding, and great to see some old friends. However, we were ready to come home and see Liam, who stayed back with my mom. Even though it was ‘vacation,’ we felt like we needed a few days to catch our breath once we arrived home.
The second reason it's a bit of a busy week is that we restarted our weekly youth program on Wednesday nights. We still got together on a weekly basis over the summer, but we put a hold on our Wednesday night program to focus on those other events. I’m writing this note on Wednesday morning, so I ask that you retrospectively pray for our evening. Chances are that if you are reading this, it went well! If this section on youth isn’t in the email, you know things didn’t go well!
The third reason that it’s a busy week is that I’m preaching on Sunday. I’ll be wrapping up our series on women in the Old Testament called “Behind the Veil.” I’ll be looking at the story of Esther and how she used her influence for the good of others. We will also hear about United Women in Faith in the services and all they are doing at our church, as well as having three new members join at the 11:00 am Traditional service. As I mentioned, it’s a busy week, but it’s all good things!
I hope you are able to join us as we close out our series at either of our services, the 9:30 am Celebration Service or our 11:00 am Traditional Service, both of which are live-streamed. Have a wonderful weekend and see you soon!
