Weekly Update // Pastor Will
Dear Asbury Family
I hope you’re all having a wonderful week! I wanted to take a moment to share something personal with you and ask for your prayers. This Thursday morning at 9 AM, I will be meeting with the Florida Board of Ordained Ministry (BOOM) to discuss my continuation in the ordination process of the United Methodist Church. While this journey has required a lot of time and effort, I am grateful for the ways it continues to shape me, challenge me, and affirm my calling. There are certainly moments when I wish I could be focusing on other things, but I also know that this process is invaluable—giving me guidance and direction as I seek to serve faithfully. I would greatly appreciate your prayers for wisdom, clarity, and peace as I go through this next step. Your encouragement and support mean more to me than I can express, and I’ll be sure to share an update when I have one.
In the midst of all this, I’m also excited about several upcoming events that I hope you’ll take part in!
• Glow Party – This Friday, February 7, from 6:00-7:30 PM
If you’re looking for a fun, family-friendly event, this is it! Our Glow Party will be an evening full of music, dancing, crafts, games, and more—all in a glow-in-the-dark setting. Whether you’re young or just young at heart, it’s going to be a fantastic time, and I’d love to see you there!
• Asbury Early Learning Center Silent Auction & Art Show – Friday, February 28
Our preschool does an incredible job of nurturing and educating our little ones, and this event is a great way to support them! The silent auction and art show will help raise extra funds so they can continue to provide an amazing learning experience. Whether you have children in the program or just want to help out a great cause, I encourage you to come be a part of it!
I also hope to see you this Sunday for worship as we continue our sermon series, The Heart of God. Pastor Durwood will be bringing the message, and I know it will be a meaningful time of reflection and encouragement. If you’re unable to attend in person, don’t forget that we stream our services on Facebook and YouTube, so you can still worship with us from wherever you are.
And for our youth (6th-12th grade), this Sunday at 11:00 AM is our Second Sunday gathering! We’ll be making pancakes and waffles, enjoying some great fellowship, and just taking time to connect. It’s always a fun and relaxed time together, and I’d love for you to join us!
Thank you, Asbury, for walking alongside me in this season of life and ministry. Your prayers and support give me strength, and I’m grateful for each of you. I look forward to seeing you soon!
Grace and peace,
Will
